Soundike's File Settings

After various issues, complaints and problems, we've decided to no longer support or recommend Soundike. Check out our comparison page for some alternative mp3 download sites.

If you've ever downloaded music from somewhere you shouldn't or from a dodgy looking site, you'll know that the file names are messy. The artist, album and track name will all be written in track name, so sorting by artist on your mp3 player becomes impossible. Finding songs from specific albums is just not an option. Well, Soundike have had a little think about this problem and have come up with a solution that is better than just keeping the names tidy. After registering, you need to confirm your email address in order to get your $0.30 free and to have full access to the site. Once you've done that, you can go to the 'User Info' menu at the top of the site. This is where you can add extra info about yourself di you want to, like name, phone number, date of birth etc (these are all optional). Right at the very bottom is the 'Site Settings' menu. This is where you can chose how you want your music downloads to be named. You can decide if you want track number to appear first, artist etc. You can even pick the spacer between the words. You can have - or . or a load of other characters! You can also customise the look of the your area little here too. This is a great feature that works well I think. Get over to Soundike to have a look at this for yourself and of course, to grab your free tracks.

Stuck for ideas? Check MP3 Panda first!

Unfortunately, MP3Panda have now closed down. But there are plenty of other mp3 sites to download from, check out some of our favorites on our reviews page.

MP3 Panda are one of my favourite sites because of their nice simple design. It's not too busy, not too much going on but there is still lots to do on the homepage. Their site is updated regularly, so if you're ever stuck for ideas of what to download, make sure you check out their site first. They have 'Top Downloads' on the homepage, 'Popular' music, a scrolling bar of the top 5 albums and of course, the free album of the day. As if that's not enough to inspire you, they also list the 'World Charts', 'Euro Charts', 'UK Charts' and 'USA Charts'. Check out the MP3 Panda homepage now to get some ideas for what to download when you're bored!

Check out the New MP3va

MP3va are the most consistent site of all the ones I've reviewed, they update when necessary, the site is clean and easy to use. So the one that's most surprising when it updates is MP3va. They are my favourite site, the design is great, colourful, simple and it works really well. They have now changed this for a logo of a bright yellow sunshine wearing his sunnies! Very sweet!

Not much else has changed, other than regular updates. They still offer songs for 15¢ each and have a huge music library top browse through. Go to MP3va to see this new design for yourself!

Site with the largest library?

The five music download sites that I compare all have something to offer that's a bit different from the others. That's why I review five and not just one or two. Each has it's pros and cons. MP3Million has 2,618,564 tracks

Closed: LegalSounds has 2,114,386 tracks

Closed: MP3 Panda has 1,952,101 tracks

MP3va has 1,190,088 tracks

So if you want a site that can offer you loads of music, MP3Million is for you. The site has a low minimum top up as well, at just €19.95.

The site has some good top up offers too if you want to top up a little more, read the full MP3 Million review for details on this or you can visit the site for yourself here: Go to MP3Million

Soundike's F.A.Q - Actually Helpful!

After various issues, complaints and problems, we've decided to no longer support or recommend Soundike. Check out our comparison page for some alternative mp3 download sites.

Most of these cheap mp3 sites list very little information about themselves or their service in their frequently asked questions section. You're always kind of left to work it out for yourself. However, Soundike seem to have stepped up the game and they now offer extensive q & a to their customers about their service. Things like how to use the music you download, how to get refunds, the legal side of it all, how to transfer, listen to, etc etc. They cover just about everything. Get over to Soundike's help section now for all you need to know about downloading music, making it work on your iPod anything else you want to know.
